- I Took my 13yr old grandson to FastCare at Meijer on Thursday 7/20 for an eye issue. No wait and the staff was very accommodating, knowledgeable and pleasant. Cory, the nurse practitioner, made a quick diagnosis, chose an eye wash and sent scrip to pharmacy. Easy, no wait, and smiling faces works for me in these non-emergent situations. So happy Meijer is in the Soo and FastCare is there as well.
- At the last minute my son decided he wanted to play football this school year and I needed to find a place to get him a sports physical immediately. I remember hearing the commercial on the radio about War Memorial Hospital's FastCare clinic in Meijer was offering them. We ran directly there and were in and out with no wait and ONLY $25. Loved it. I will be telling all the sports parents about this.
- I used FastCare this year to get my flu shot and I will now go there all the time to get them. Quick in and out and ONLY $20! I have been telling everyone I know.
What Is The Difference Between The E.R., Community Care Clinic, and FastCare?
At War Memorial Hospital our number one concern is giving you, the patient, the best experience and treatment possible. So the last thing we want is for you to be wondering where you should go for that treatment. First and foremost you should always try to see your primary WMH healthcare provider, but when that is not possible, we hope this will help.
WMH FastCare Clinic: Our FastCare Clinic specializes in basic, non-life-threatening conditions. FastCare is a more affordable option than the emergency room or community care clinic, but does not cover as much in the services provided. Patients must be 18 months or older and some age restrictions apply for select services. See list above for coverage and age restrictions.
WMH Community Care Clinic: If your physician is not available, or it is after hours and you feel the condition can't wait until the next day, go to our community care clinic. The situation is not life threatening, but pain or discomfort may be more than you want to deal with until the next day.
WMH Emergency Room: Should be used for a serious medical condition or symptom (including severe pain) caused by an injury, illness or mental illness, that arises suddenly and requires immediate care and treatment to avoid disability or death.
